Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data LeadInDigital collects, why, how long we keep it and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we can.

What we collect and why

When you contact us

We keep your name, email address and message so we can reply. We use them for nothing else. Messages are deleted automatically after 12 months.

When you subscribe to the newsletter

We keep your email address, when you signed up and confirmed, and the page you signed up on. We email you only after you confirm by clicking the link we send, and every email has an unsubscribe link. A sign-up you never confirm is deleted after 7 days; after you unsubscribe, your address is deleted within 30 days.

When you click a link to a product

We record which link was clicked, on which page and button, and when. We do not record your IP address or anything else that identifies you. The provider or affiliate network you arrive at may set its own cookies to credit the sale; their privacy policies apply there.

Counting visits

We count visits ourselves, without cookies: which page was viewed, the site you came from, your country and whether you use a phone, tablet or computer, stored only as daily totals. To count each visitor once a day, your IP address and browser are turned into a code that cannot be reversed and changes every day; the code is deleted after two days and your IP address is never stored. Browsers that send the Global Privacy Control signal are not counted.

Google Analytics

When switched on, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. In the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland it runs only after you agree; elsewhere it runs unless you turn it off in the consent message or your browser.

Adverts

When switched on, Google AdSense shows adverts on our Insights pages. In the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland, Google shows a consent message and uses personalised adverts only if you agree.

Running and protecting the site

Our site is delivered and protected by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to do so and tells us your country, so we can show prices in your currency. We do not store your IP address in our own database. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs for security for a short time. We also record addresses on our site that do not exist, with the page that linked to them, to fix broken links; this holds no personal data.

Legal basis

We reply to messages because you asked us to and it is in our legitimate interest to answer. We send the newsletter, analytics and personalised adverts only with your consent where the law requires it, and you can withdraw consent at any time. We run and protect the site in our legitimate interest in keeping it working and secure.

Who we share data with

Only the services that run the site for us: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, the email service that sends our emails, and Google for analytics and adverts when they are switched on. We never sell personal data. Some of these providers process data outside your country; where that happens they use the safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under UK and EU data protection law, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act and some US state laws, you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent. Email our team via this contact page and we will reply within one month.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

Our site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
